An increasing number of people are waking up to the distinct advantages of this beautiful stone flooring, coming in a range of earthy colours and attractive finishes it is a versatile choice for the design of a floor that both looks amazing and can withstand the rigours of a modern lifestyle. The variety of lovely hues range from neutral to bolder shades of blue, red and other colours. The more neutral shades allow the stone adaptability to go with almost any décor, while the adventurous bold colours are a fantastic option if you are searching for a more unique look, enabling you you to go with the flow and let your imagination run wild.

Limestone is a fantastic choice for bathrooms, with the best suited being the slip resistant type with matt finishes, such as the sandblasted range available, which will obviously not only provide an attractive look to the aesthetics of the room but also minimise any contingency.

The wise purchase of a limestone floor definitely has to be more of an investment than an expenditure with its durability, easy maintenance and extraordinary beauty, it is an excellent choice to add a touch of class to any home interior.

Many materials are now used to create flooring solutions but one of the oldest, maybe even the oldest one in use is stone. This isn’t just a coincidence, there’s many reasons for this. Along with looking extremely classy and making your desired place look stunning, these floors are nearly impervious to physical harm, even to the extent where they do not scratch when heavy furniture/objects are dragged over them. If your stone was to get damaged, as unlikely as that is you would only have to change the damaged slabs, this would be very cost effective as with many other types of flooring you would have to buy flooring for the whole room/area. There’s various types of stone too, if you’re looking for a highly durable flooring solution then you should choose something like sandstone or granite, these floors can handle just about anything. If you are looking for something a a bit softer and maybe more elegant you could try travertine, marble or limestone tiles. Artificiality made stones are also available such as slate and terrazzo, these are made by mixing cement with existing stones. If you are thinking of searching for the perfect stone flooring, don’t hesitate to check out our website today where we’re almost sure you’ll find something to fit your requirements.

One of the latest luxuries sort after for the home is stone flooring. Stone flooring is crafted from a delectable selection of natural stone sourced from regions around the world. This may seem to be a new revelation for the home but it actually stems back to earlier periods within our history.

Buildings created in earlier periods can still be found with stone slabs, possibly within a stable, factory and many more locations. And although the designs now available are a lot more exquisite, the principle is very much the same.

Today stone floors are crafted using a wide variety of luscious and lavish textures and colours alongside having built-in durability making them suitable for a wide range of conditions. Not only this but stone floors have an added feature where they actually improve over time, have hard wearing qualities and are extremely easy to clean and most of all will last you an entire lifetime.

Stone for over 300 million years have been used by architects and designers since the beginning of civilization. Three basic types of carve out stone floors are: sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous stone floors. Limestone is an example of sedimentary, granite is igneous while slate and marble are metamorphic stones.

Though stone flooring has been considered for the elite, this is no longer the case as advances in technology have made the labor intensive process affordable. Your home is your castle and thus you should consider stone floors. Making stone is very simple. Large blocks are cut from the earth and transported to a processing plant. The blocks are cut into slabs which then go to a fabricator to be cut again, then shaped and polished.

Natural stone flooring companies are found throughout the world. Therefore, you should consider contacting stone flooring company that is well reputed and experienced in the profession. The beauty about using a stone flooring company is that you are able to benefit from advantages that come along with its services. An example is that stone flooring will increase your home’s resale value. Stone flooring, like wine, matures with age. While searching for a company that does stone flooring, it is important to do adequate research.

Stone is perhaps the oldest material still in use for flooring, and there are many reasons why. Stone floors are almost impervious to any physical harm, and do not scratch even when you move heavy objects over them. Even when a stone floor does get damaged, you only have to replace a few slabs to repair it, with the result that repairing stone floors is relatively cheaper than repairing other types of flooring.

Stone floors have a classy look that is hard to match with just about any other type of flooring. When going with stone flooring, you also get to choose from a variety of different types of stones to create the type of look you want for your home. If you want a floor that can take a lot of footfall, as well as remain durable, you can go with sandstone or granite. Among relatively softer stones, you have the choice of travertine, limestone and marble. Other types of stones used are slate and terrazzo. The latter is an artificial type of stone made by mixing cement with other stones.

With stone floors for sale, you also have the choice of buying stone floors at a discount, which can make a stone floor all the more affordable. A number of manufacturers will have stone floors for sale in their end of season sale, when you can get double digit discounts on the stones of your choice.

Its history dates back hundreds or even thousands of years ago. The four most commonly used stones for this type of flooring are slate, limestone, granite and marble. Out of these four, granite is obviously the sturdiest one. What many people also do not know is that it is possible to find stone flooring in many different colors and patterns.

Each of the previously mentioned stones will naturally have their own faults as well as plus points. Deciding on one will depend entirely on the taste and budget of the person buying it.
As mentioned earlier, granite stone flooring is the toughest of them all. It is difficult to damage a floor made with this type of stone, and it is easy to maintain. On the down side, if it happens to get damaged in any way, it is also the most difficult to repair.

Slate is perhaps the easiest of them all to work with. This is because it is quite soft, and breaking them into desired shapes is no big deal. Lime stone and marble are relatively soft, but have an entirely different molecular composition. What this means is that it is easy to polish and get the desired luster.

Slate, limestone and marble can easily last 40 years or more. Granite can last close to hundred years. As with any type of flooring, stone floors also require proper maintenance. The first and most important thing to understand is that, it should be installed properly. In fact, improper installation is the number one reason why stone floors do not last long. Once it has been installed properly, dust mopping should be done regularly.

A mop can be used when cleaning. However, care should be taken not to use too much water. Never use cleaning agents that contain any type of acid. If cleaning agents are used, then a dry cloth should be used afterwards, especially on marble floors. Polishing the stone once in a while is also a good idea.

If you are thinking about refurbishing your kitchen you may be unsure as to what type of flooring you should use to add character and style to your home. A stone floor will look fantastic in almost any kitchen and not only will it look good it is highly functional and easy to clean making it perfect for the kitchen in any family home.

No stone floor is ever the same as each piece of stone has its own character and design due to the natural patterns in the stone meaning your floor will be completely unique to your kitchen and your home. Stone floors may be more expensive than wooden floors however a stone floor will last a lifetime unlike a wooden floor. A wooden floor will need to be cared for during its lifetime and it will need replacing more often than a wooden floor and due to the grain it will be much harder to keep clean.
